You Have to F*#$ing Eat

By the author of the best selling Go the F#$k to Sleep, this little picture book will be instantly relatable to most, if not all, parents. It's about the struggle to persuade children to eat what's put in front of them, and those trying moments when they claim to suddenly hate something they usually love, want something different when dinner is already served or want to eat long after the mealtime is over after refusing to earlier. Having a school age child I found I could particularly relate to this part:

“How was school, hon? Whoa, your lunch box is full.
How are you not passed out in the street?
How is it you're smart? How the hell are you growing
When you basically don't f*#$king eat?”

It's immensely comforting knowing that other parents are going through the same thing and that lots of children go through this phase and eventually come out fine.

The art is cute, though not quite as pretty as in the first book, and the verse doesn't scan as well, but the message is clear and this book will get a weary laugh out of many parents.
