Good question! I'm a big fan of the detective genre so it's hard to choose but I think my favourite of all time is probably Miss Marple. I also love Sherlock Holmes.

Just lately I have been enjoying the adventures of Marcus Didius Falco, an informer (private investigator) in Ancient Rome in the books by Lindsay Davies.
Without a doubt, Costas Haritos from the novels by Greek author, Petros Markaris.
I have never been interested in detective fiction; it just doesn't interest me. I don't have a favourite detective.
I read all the Leon books, so I guess Brunetti, but I wouldn't really say he's my favourite detective. I like the Sparkle Hayter books, so that girl (forgotten name) could be it?
My favourite detective is probably Alex Cross in the James Patterson novels.
