Are there any particular books that you like to read in the lead up to Christmas to help get yourself in a Christmassy mood?

Can't go past Twas the night before Christmas - we have about 6 different picture books of it...
I like to re-read A Christmas Carol every year. I'm waiting for my kids to be a little older so I can read it to them because it's great for reading aloud.
Why wait? Children should be read to from 'conception' onwards! ( until they tell you they don't want that anymore!)

I have always read to my children, I am just waiting to read them this specific book because the level of concentration it requires to sit through has been a bit beyond them so far. I pick different books to suit them at different ages/stages of maturity.
This year I've made a list of Christmassy books to read. I haven't read any of them before, so can't yet vouch for how good they are, but I figure a mix will get me in the festive spirit. They are:
Skipping Christmas by John Grisham
Matchless by Gregory Maguire
Holidays on Ice by David Sedaris
The Stupidest Angel: a Heart-warming Tale of Christmas Terror by Christopher Moore.
Matchless is beautiful. A good one for sharing with kids too.

I really didn't like Skipping Christmas. I think it was just a bit out of context because I'm not an American.

Holidays on Ice is fun. I recommend the audio book version read by the author.

I hadn't heard of that Christopher Moore one. That's going on my list.
A Christmas Carol .. love that book and the lessons it imparts.
I like Applesauce and The Christmas Miracle by Glenda Millard and Stephen Michael King.
There's only one for me, 'A Christmas Carol', enhanced by a screen version!
A christmas carol
