Spring has almost sprung, though the August winds are still blowing, making it not idea weather to try and read outdoors.

What book, or books do you have on the go this month? Would you recommend them?

This month it has mostly been stuff I have to read for my course so far (text books), but when I finish next week I'm looking forward to starting Corpselight by Angela Slatter, the sequel to Vigil. It's urban fantasty set in Brisbane. I hope it's as good as the first one, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Also I have briefly dipped into a few comics, such as Fowl Language, which is about parenting, with a dad and his children depicted as ducks (makes sense when you read it). It's very true to life.
I've been tackling some of the books on my very long 'to read' list- for example, ones that have won awards like Hannah Kent's Burial Rites. I want to see if they're as good as people say or if they've just been talked up too much. So far Burial Rites is living up to the hype- I'm really enjoying it!
Good to know. That one is on my "to read" list as well.
