Do you have a reading genre that you read over the holidays? Traditionally it's crime or romance, or genres considered 'junk' reads. Or does your reading stay the same all year round?

I read whatever I have at hand at the time. I don't tend to have particular books for particular seasons. If I see a book I like the look of then I'll read it whenever.
Good question. I read "trashy" books on and off throughout the year anyway, but they are especially nice on the holidays when I'm feeling a bit lazy. Since I am moving house soon and will be very busy I deliberately kept out a couple of "easy" escapist reads that I might dip into for a break when I'm stressed out. For me that's some Mur Lafferty (specfic/comedy) and a couple of romances.
I don't read romance but I am a sucker for crime. So my beach read usually involves murder in Venice or an Agatha Christie. Also a fan of Mr Singh (Flint).
Yes, Christie is great summer reading! I love a bit of Miss Marple.
I really enjoyed Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan as a totally escapist beach read. On holidays I like to read things that feel really indulgent and separate from my own world, and this sneak peak into the world of the insanely wealthy really provided that.
