My friend of over 60 years used to study in the bath. I'm a shower person myself, and could think of nothing worse than lying about in tepid water, particularly in winter.
I love to, though not so much at this time of year. I like to take a glass of wine in there too.
I shower rather than bath, but if I was in the bath, I wouldn't stay in there long enough for it to be worth reading. I'd also get my book wet with wet hands.
Getting the book wet is easy to avoid. You just keep a towel near the bath and dry your hands before you pick up the book.
I'd end up lowering the book and dipping it in the water. I don't like wallowing in water anyway, so it would feel most uncomfortable.
I read a lot in bath (& in the loo). And I think I remember almost everything I have read at these 2 places, even better than in my study room. It's almost become a compulsion over the years. If I couldn't get a book or a magazine, I'd pick up the bottles and start reading the ingredients, where it was made and who bottled it etc.

I want to have a shelf in my bath where I place the books I like reading no matter whether I've read it before or whether old/new. My partner gets upset with this habit but I'm not the one to give it up!
I'd like to read in the bath, but every time it's a good opportunity, someone else is already in there.
OMG - yes! I do this whenever I can. I enjoy having a book in my hand while relaxing in the water and getting lost in another world. Winter is the time that this happens the most.
Great Question.

No. I'd rather read with my clothes on, preferably rugged up in a warm blanket.

Yes I do read in the bath.

I only have baths in winter, and I love lying in a bubble, or oil, bath and reading.

In the bath NO, in the loo, YES (all the time).
Yuck! It always grosses me out when people do that because you shouldn't touch things like books until after you've washed your hands. I'm sure you could only hold the book in one hand and do everything else with the other but I don't trust people to bother with that when it's an uphill battle to get them to wash their hands as it is. My kids grasp the basics of hygiene but weirdly lots of adults don't.
No. I am notoriously clumsy and would probably cry once I dropped the book into the water.
Yes. Yes. Yes :) Bath time is an EVENT for me. Bubblebath, a glass of wine or champagne and my kindle. You gotta have your kindle or a book while bathing! I have a bath every night & read. It's my ME time. Perhaps that's indulgent? I'm a mermaid. (I love her orange toe polish in the picture btw)
When I was still living at my parents' house, always read the morning paper in the bath!

That 'tradition' stopped once I married! Had to get TWO of us ready & off to work!
Then Saturday afternoon became 'newspaper reading time', after lunch!
