Do you have a favourite Pamela Allen book?

My kids adore the Mr McGee series. I like her books because they are so good for reading aloud. So many children's books that are supposed to rhyme are terrible and I get annoyed reading them, which makes the experience less fun for all of us. Pamela Allen's are always good fun.

I think I wish I had a Pirate suit is by far her best - it captures that younger sibling feeling perfectly - always just missing out... I also like The Bears Lunch and Alexander's Outing (having followed the path in the book many a time in real life,book in hand to point to the bottle tree, lion gate and fountain - and of course the duck pond)

Grandpa and Thomas is my favourite. It celebrates the unique relationship a boy has with his grandfather and the lifelong bond that is formed. A visit to the beach with Grandpa - a memorable experience for many Australians!
