With the schoolyard trend of fidget spinners dying out, it was only a matter of time before a new craze took over.
Enter slime.
Available for purchase in all sorts of shops, slime is also very easy to make yourself.
The following books are just a few that have been released so that you can learn how…
Ultimate Slime – Alyssa Jagan (Founder of @craftyslimecreator)
Popular Instagram slime-maker Alyssa Jagan has created this step-by-step book so that all of her followers can join in the fun of creating their own borax-free slime. With some basic recipes (and photo diagrams) given at the beginning of the book, she then builds on these, adding colours, textures and presentation ideas. There are over 100 recipes and projects in this book, and the instructions are well-explained and easy to follow. Not bad for a teenage schoolgirl who only started making slime and posting it online over a year ago!

The Zen Of Slime: A DIY Inspiration Notebook - @sparklygoo & Alena Woods with FaLAB
Although this book has basic recipes for making slime, it also tries to take on a mindfulness approach to making and playing with slime, hence the ‘zen’ part in the title. While the idea is sound (a lot of people play with slime for its ‘therapeutic’ qualities), they take it just a little bit too far with their ‘be like the slime’ introduction. That said, this book may be perfect if you want a pocket-size guide to creating slimes of different colours and textures. This book features more inspirations than recipes, with plenty of photographs, slime/mindfulness-related quotes and entrepreneurial notes at the back.
