Amy Tan has entertained us for many years with her beautiful, often heart wrenching emotional prose. Her books are highly personal yet relate to readers worldwide. From her most popular novel, The Joy Luck Club, to her children's books and works of non-fiction, there is something for everyone in her library.
Saving Fish From Drowning is, in my opinion, Tan's most hilarious book. From the opening line, "It was not my fault", you know you're in for an interesting ride. And the story is quite breathtaking. Highlighting the ignorance and naivety of humans the world over. I found this book to be extremely clever, at times frustrating in its description of some of the characters' stupidity, and most entertaining. It's a book vastly different from Tan's other works, and a wonderful one.
